Before the second Catching Fire came out Covergirl had put together a make up collection for the movie. Not only are the colors bright, but also this is the make up they had used on the actually movie set.  With make up artist like Ve Neil working on the set with this make up you just know that it is going to be amazing. In fact I am very angry they the movie was not up for an Oscar. Now this make up you can still find on the shelf, Covergirl has made it apart of their main collection, it’s called the Flamed out Collection and for particular colors for each district you can look up the looks which are still on covergirl.com.

A lot of people were getting upset at when the promos first came out because they hated the capital. Well let’s be honest that were all the fun fashion is and make up is about having fun. It is pretty silly to hate the make up line because look at Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks), she looked fabulous with all of the colors they had used and it was also so bold and unafraid which is what make up is about.

The actually make up works a lot better then Covergirl use to. The brand has been trying to make sure that they become a better product like Mac and Urban Decay. It is not quite up there but I think it works much better then a lot of the make up that is out in Target or Wal-Mart. I only bought a few things from the collection because like most collection not all of it is to my taste. I bought the Flamed Out  Red Hot shadow and pencil shadow along with the white pencil shadow called Crystal Flame to complete the Katniss President ball look. I used my Urban Decay Primer and for the red shadow the I used of both them, which allowed the make up to stay for 12 hours without any smudges or creases. It lasted as well as any of my other eye shadows.  I was pleasantly surprised that it worked so well. The white also worked very well. Most of the time Covergirl whites are never bright enough for me but this was not the case with this pencil shadow stick.

Aside from those shadows I had bought the gold liner like Cinnas called Gold Flame. It works alright. I wasn’t too happy that it wasn’t bright enough on my bottom water line but on the top it was very bright. I had found that it took a few layers to get it the right color that I wanted. I was more into having a bright gold eye since that was all that was going on. I have paired it with different gold colors, different ones from the collection, such as a Mac gold and my primer Greed from Urban Decay, which doubles as an eye shadow.

For a drug store brand these colors worked pretty well. My sister was not happy with the Gold Flame on its on but I suggest that you buy the pencil shadow that goes with the dry shadow to get the best wear. It might seem like it’s a lot for something from Covergirl but it is well worth the 8-10 dollars for both.  It is hard to find a red that pigmented enough to be red for along period of time and with the duo of both you can have a long wear and bright colors. My look are below.

Katniss Everdeen vs Bella bitch ass Swan

I have a problem with how people compare Katniss Everdeen to Bella bitch ass Swan. Just because a movie/book is popular does not mean that these characters are anything alike. Come on people look at the books that had come before the Hunger Games trilogy; The Giver, Brave New World, 1984, Animal Farm, and The Most Dangerous Game. These are all novels that had the main characters in a situation where the government was in control. In the Most Dangerous Game it was prisoners that were “stranded” on an island where they were killing one another and being hunted. In 1984, Brave New World, they had a big brother that was in control of everything and the main MALE characters had the same thoughts and worries as Katniss.  The only difference between these characters is the fact that one is a man and the other is a 16-year-old girl. Katniss had taken care of her family, she had gone to the hunger games instead of her sister and while she was there she had defied the man by making sure Peeta and herself would get out and when Rue had died she had given her a burial of sorts.

Bella is a weak as bitch. I read a single page of the Twilight series and that is because when I was in high school the books were coming out and they were very popular. I had a few friends tell me I needed to read them and after a certain amount of people telling me that I thought why not and I read a page and thought “ This is some crap.” I saw the first two movies I will admit, the first one I ran out of booze and pot and the second one was because I went with a friend to see it. I worked at a video store for the record and got the first one for free and I wanted to have an opinion and well I have never lived it down that I have seen it. Anyways Bella was a weak ass bitch that had followed a guy around that didn’t want her. IN fact in the second one she had gone to kill herself because she was left all alone and she had also went off with some bikers that were going to rape her. This is not a role model for young women. Yes when a man leaves you, you go to kill yourself.

Katniss fought for what she believed in. Even at the very end when she was lost and confused she never gave up. Every character that is on a journey like that has the same thoughts and fears. Look a Harry Potter, he was freaked out. She didn’t give in and take the soma pill like the main character did in Brave New World. These two females are not the same and should not be compared to one another. So what the book was picked up and made into a great movie series. Suzanne Collins is writing the screen plays for all of the Hunger Game movies, which is amazing. She is not some bored housewife that writes at a 5th grade level. She took concepts that have been throughout literature for decades and she applied them to a group of teenagers. The writing isn’t even for just young adults.  It is like Harry Potter just because that is where they placed it doesn’t mean that it belongs there.
